I have a VERY important question . . .
How many of you were as naive as me to think that once you got out of high school the concept of cliques no longer would apply to your everyday life? WELL . . . I'm very unhappy to report they are alive and well and exisiting within the suburban housewife.
What is it in our psyche that makes some women feel the need to travel in packs and purposely ignore or decide to ignore other mothers for what ever reason?
Maybe men go through this too . . . but seeing as I'm not a man . . .
Actually . . . I did ask my hubby once about how often he spent time with his co-workers outside the office. Did he consider any of them friends? He said he does occasionally, but most of his co-workers who he has become friends with have moved on and he doesn't see them that often.
I guess the real question for me is . . . how many friends do I need to have in my life?
I do have two best childhood friends (who both live on the East Coast) . . . and two very good friends who I went to HS with (who both live in CA, but neither within an easy distance) . . . I haven't kept in touch with any of my college roommates . . . and now it hard for me to say I have any real BEST FRIENDS who I go out with regularly.
And for some stupid reason I feel like I'm missing out . . . I wish I knew why . . .
Of course I can't forget that I do have a TRUE best friend . . . my hubby. The man who's made the past 19 1/2 years of my life very interesting.
Kids #1,2&3 are all doing okay. Thank Goodness!

WOW! I can't believe this past week went by so fast! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving . . . mine was good . . . and crazy! For the first time I had a bunch of people at MY house and I LOVED it!
My mom, brother (with his family), in-laws, niece and her daughter were all over and the place was ROCKING! Especially since 4 of the kids there were between the ages of 3-5. Throw in TWO conversations with my best friends (one of them being EXTREMELY drunk during the second conversation) and it was a very memorable weekend.
To top everything off, I think we've turned a corner with Kid #1. Last night I caught him and Kid #2 whispering about something. He told me it was about something they had being playing earlier in the day. I didn't believe him . . . but I held my tongue. About a half an hour later when I was tucking him in bed, he pulled out his game boy from under his stuffed animals and told me that was what he and his sister had been talking about. They had made a deal to play behind my back. I told him in a very calm voice, "I'm glad you told me." He kind of did a double take and asked, "You're not mad?" I told him I was just happy he decided to fess up before I found out about it on my own.
He got his first taste of what it felt like to do the right thing . . . and I think he liked it. I just pray it continues . . .
Okay . . . now that Thanksgiving is done . . . it's on to Christmas!

I was SO hoping this past weekend was going to be nice and relaxing (well, as relaxing as it could be since it was the weekend before Thanksgiving). Well . . . I was WRONG!
So I mentioned about kid #1 getting in trouble last week about lying . . . well guess what . . . he was at it again. This time it was about going onto porn sites . . . on top of that, my hubby caught him actually on the sites!
Needless to say I was PISSED . . . and freaked out at the same time.
Thankfully my oldest is a very sensitive kid who's not very mature socially. Which is why this is SO hard for him. He has NO IDEA what's going on with his body!
So basically we scared the s**t out of him about catching him in the lie, and the poor thing was so upset, he sat over the toliet waiting to heave for about 10 minutes.
I got him to calm down, we talked to him about lying thing, and then hubby had a modified sex talk with him.
Now apart from the new protection software we're getting for the computer, and the fact he has no computer for the next week, PLUS no internet access until further notice . . . everything's back to normal.
If there is such a thing!
This is going to be an interesting week . . .

Okay . . . so I haven't posted as much as I wanted to this week (although I'm better than last time!). Today was a particularly stressful day . . . I worked in kid #1's class today, then I had to get everything ready kid #2's Brownie meeting . . . at my house . . . then I had kid #1's conference after that. On top of that, I had to talk to the prinicpal today because kid#1 got himself caught in a lie with a teacher. Never mind we just had a conversation with him about this 2 FREEKING WEEKS AGO!!!
Hormones are a horrible thing . . . My 10 year old has offically started puberty!
AAAAAAHHHHHHAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Thank God for preschool!!! That's where kid #3 was the WHOLE day!
When I finally got a chance to slow down, by telling my wonderful munchkins I wanted to eat my Jack in the Box hamburger in peace . . . by myself . . . in my room . . . kid #3 decided to spend the next 30 minutes bugging me about the XBOX.
I really should have slapped my hubby upside the head when he made that purchase.
So right now I should be working on my writing, but I'm not . . . I'm venting instead.
At least the weekend is about to start! TGIF!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Damn! I can't believe it's taken me so long to post again! I wasn't expecting to do this everyday, but I was at least hoping to do it once a week! Unfortuantely all of it has to do with all the stuff that's been going on in my life . . .
Since my last posting I've been dealing with . . . a birthday, Kid #1 and his issue with one of his teachers, trying to get ready for Thanksgiving and hoping I don't have more family there than I was planning, and trying hard to get out from all of the CRAP that's strewn all over my kitchen counters because I haven't had the time to FILE, FILE, FILE!
On top of all that . . . Kids #1 and 2 have shortened days all this week because of parent/teacher conferences (one of which I have today). This is going to be a LONG week and I have a distinct feeling I'm going to be bitching ALOT this week. So anyone who reads this . . . please bear with me!
Thanks!
